Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, preferably in Microsoft Word, using 12 point Arial font, and should conform to MLA Style Manual, 3rd edition (New York, MLA, 2008). Articles should normally be written in English, but in exceptional cases German-language texts will be considered. For articles written in English, quotations should appear in English in the main body of the text, and in the original language in notes wherever the author wishes to include original language formulations. Endnotes should be used, and a Works Cited list should be provided in a separate document. An English-language abstract and biography of 250 words or less each should accompany all submissions as separate documents. Authors’ names must not appear in the text or notes of the manuscript document submitted. Normally, articles should not exceed 10,000 words for the main body of the text. Images should be a maximum of 500 pixels in width and should be embedded in the main document but also submitted as separate files.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
3. Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions for erasing personal identifying information have been followed.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with Konturen agree to the following terms:

a. Authors retain copyright and grant Konturen right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in Konturen.

b. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of Konturen’s published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in Konturen.
